We operate a no-argument guarantee policy, which means that we are prepared to offer a full refund on any item purchased from us where the description or condition differs significantly from that stated. All refunds will automatically include any postal costs incurred by the purchaser. This guarantee is made on the understanding that we be contacted prior to any item being returned.
Where items are damaged in transit we would ask that the original packaging be retained and that photographs of the reported damage be emailed to us in order for us to make a counter claim against the courier.
Please remember items being returned are your responsibility until they reach us. For your protection we recommend that when returning an item you use a recorded-delivery service that insures you for the value of the goods being returned.
Our Returns Policy does not affect your statutory rights.
Where pictures are shown as having 'later hand colouring' this normally means that the colour was added within the last few years. We use a professional colourist who is a member of the ICON, the Institute of Conservation. If you have pictures that you would like either cleaned or coloured please email us and we will gladly pass your details on.
Use of images:
All photographs on this site are automatically copyrighted to The Maritime Gallery and must not be used without our permission. However permission is almost always given for our images to be used by researchers, family historians, teaching projects and charity sites. We will not give permission for images to be used in order for a third party to either profit, i.e. use an image for listing purposes on Ebay or any similar auction sites or for any deception purposes, non-compliance of these terms may result in action being taken.
Original works by featured artists/ Anthony Blackman:
The Maritime Gallery acts in the role of agent for all artists exhibiting original works and limited edition prints through the 'Original Works by Featured Artists' and 'Anthony Blackman' sections of this website. This does not imply we are the artist's agent it simply means that we act as an agent for the purpose of buying original works and limited edition prints through these sections of the website.
Responsibility for all financial transactions and the distribution of items rests solely between the artist and the purchaser. Whilst the Maritime Gallery takes considerable care in ensuring artists exhibiting through us are genuine traders we cannot be held responsible for transactions between the parties.
We would suggest that all payments are made via Paypal or similar credit card facilities where protection against potential fraudulent transactions is guaranteed. Unless goods are being collected in person we would recommend cash transactions are avoided.
The above clauses do not apply to the remaining sections of this website as all financial transactions, item descriptions and dispatching of goods are the responsibility of the Maritime Gallery.
