Rare lithograph of 'Ramsgate from Nelson Crescent' engraved by C Rowe. The picture was printed and published in Hastings by G Wooll around 1850, maybe slightly earlier. 
 
The picture, which is hand coloured is in quite poor condition, no tears or creases but a few wrinkles. Size of engraved area 220mm x 140mm.

Rear Admiral Richard Kempenfelt (1718-1782)
 
Early steel engraving of Rear Admiral Richard Kempenfelt by H Robinson from an original painting by Kettle. The picture dates from around 1830. In 1781 Richard Kempenfelt won the Battle of Ushant against the French under de Guichen with a vastly inferior fleet capturing twenty ships.
