Lord Howe's victory June 1794
 
 
 
Copper plate engraving of Lord Howe's victory on the 1st June 1794. The battle was the first and largest fleet action of the naval conflict between the British and French fleets during the French Revolutionary Wars. The picture was published by Thomas Kelly in London in 1816.
 
The picture, which has later hand colouring, is a little grubby around the borders but generally in good condition. Size of engraved area 170mm x 125mm.

Battle of Corunna
 
 
 
Copper plate engraving of the Battle of Corunna in the Peninsular Wars, which in turn was part of the Napoleonic Wars. The engraving, by Fittler from an original drawing by Adam Neale shows the Harbour of Corunna in North West Spain. The British Army under Sir John Moore was evacuated from the harbour by the Royal Navy in 1808. The picture was published by Thomas Kelly in London in 1816.
 
The picture, which has later hand colouring, has some water staining, mainly to the borders but also just encroaching onto the image on the right hand side. There is also some light creasing, otherwise in good condition. Size of engraved area 210mm x 120mm.

Engraved by Pollard from an original drawing by Hamilton, the picture comes from Barnard's New Complete & Authentic History of England and dates from around 1783.
 
The picture, which has later hand colouring, is quite grubby around the border and has some discolouration, otherwise in good condition. Size of page 380mm x 240mm.
