The picture, which has later hand colouring, is not in great condition, it has a small tear below the bottom titles and some creasing. However it is quite a rare image and the price does reflect the condition. Double click image for a more detailed view. Size of engraved area 230mm x 150mm.

Sir Edward Spragge defeating the Dutch in 1667
 
Rare copper plate engraving 'Sir Edwd Spragge forcing the Dutch Fleet from the Mouth of the Thames July 23rd 1667. Super early engraving published by Bowyer Historic Gallery, Pall Mall, London in 1803. The picture was engraved by Worthington from an original painting by Cleveley. Wonderful battle scene which will look stunning framed.
 
 
The picture, which has later hand colouring, is in very good condition. Size of engraved area 240mm x 190mm.

Rare copper plate engraving 'Sir Edwd Spragge forcing the Dutch Fleet from the Mouth of the Thames July 23rd 1667. Super early engraving published by Bowyer Historic Gallery, Pall Mall, London in 1803. The picture was engraved by Worthington from an original painting by Cleveley. Wonderful battle scene which will look stunning framed.
USS Wasp & H.M.S Frolic C1815
 
 
 
Early copper plate engraving of the USS Wasp and H.M.S Frolic. The action between the two ships occurred on the 18th October 1812 with the Wasp coming off best. Both ships were damaged and the Wasp was eventually captured by a British Ship of the Line which was in the vicinity. Super engraving, quite small but rare.
 
 
The picture, which has later hand colouring, is in good condition. Size of engraved area 140mm x 80mm.

Early copper plate engraving of the USS Wasp and H.M.S Frolic. The action between the two ships occurred on the 18th October 1812 with the Wasp coming off best. Both ships were damaged and the Wasp was eventually captured by a British Ship of the Line which was in the vicinity. Super engraving, quite small but rare.
The Spanish Armada 1793
 
Early copper plate engraving ' The Spanish Armada defeated off Starr Point, near Plymouth'. Published in Holborn Hill, London by W & J Stratfords in January 26 1793. Super battle scene engraved for Ashburton's History of England.
 
 
The picture, which has later hand colouring, has a very small crease therough the 'A' in Ashburton's but otherwise in very good condition. Size of engraved area 195mm x 130mm.

Super early copper plate American Revolution picture of ' The French Admiral COUNT De GRASSE Delivering his Sword to Admiral (now LORD) RODNEY, (Being a more Exact Representation of that Memorable Event than is given in any other Work of this kind). On Board the Ville de Paris after being Defeated by that Gallant Commander on the Glorious 12th April 1782, in the West Indies'. Engraved by Thornton from an original drawing by Hamilton, the picture comes from Barnard's New Complete & Authentic History of England and dates from around 1783.
 
The picture, which has later hand colouring, has a light crease and is close trimmed to the left hand side as issued, otherwise in good condition.Size of page 380mm x 240mm.
