David Chambers was born in Derby. His love and knowledge of the sea is readily apparent in his originals, carrying a strong sense of power and dynamic nature. The subjects hark back to a wonderful, golden era of sail and yet remain contemporary and relevant. Many of his paintings have a strong narrative sense, while the style and quality is a reminder of the traditionally great marine artists of a long passed era.
