Interesting early aquatint 'On the Thames (Effect of Rain) '. The picture is by G Harley and was published by R Ackermann at 191 Regent Street in London. Super view of the River Thames with a hay barge in the foreground and windmill in the background.
 
The picture has a few very minor grubby marks and is trimmed below the publishing details at the bottom of the sheet, otherwise in reasonable condition. Size of image 235mm x 155mm.

Rare early lithograph published by Beverly Tucker in 1856 for 'Narrative of the Expedition of an American Squadron to the China Seas and Japan'. by Commodore William Perry. The picture shows the 'First landing at Gorahama'. The landing took place on the 14th July 1853 when Commodore Perry met with officials from the Japanese Government. The two ships in the background are the US Frigates Mississippi and Susquehanna. Illustrated by Wilhelm Heine the lithographers were P S Duval & Co.
 
The picture, which has original hand tinting, is in good condition. Size of engraved area 230mm x 150mm.

Steel engraving 'The Great Britain Steam Ship, the largest ship ever built'. Engraved for Rock and Co in London the picture dates from around 1850. The Great Britain was built by T.R.Guppy at the works of the Great Western Steamship Company in Bristol and was launched on the 19th July 1843. Designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel.

Early copper plate engraving ' The Defeat of the French Fleet off Ireland by Sir John B Warren'. Published in Holborn Hill, London by J Stratford in 1803. The picture was engraved by Brown from an original painting by Hamilton. Super battle scene between the French and British fleets. The action occurred on the 12th October 1798 when a French fleet sailed from Brest intent on invading Ireland. The action failed in no small part due to the squadron under his command.
 
The picture, which has later hand colouring, has a mark top right, otherwise in good condition. Size of engraved area 195mm x 135mm.

The picture, which has later hand colouring, has some light creasing and a mark in the sky. It is also close trimmed to the outer border. Otherwise in reasonable condition. A rare print. Size of engraved area 300mm x 200mm.

Indian Canoe, Tahiti sailing boat etc 1772
 
Interesting early copper plate engraving showing 'Canoe of the Isle of Navigators under sail an Indian Canoe of the Isle of Choiseul and a Canoe of the Isle of Taiti (Tahiti) under sail. The picture was published in the Gent Magazine in 1772. 
 
The picture, which is hand coloured, has a light crease top right hand corner and some minor offsetting, otherwise in good condition. Size of engraved area 180mm x 100mm.

The map, which is hand coloured, has brown marks around the edge from a previous matting, which will matt out otherwise in good condition. Diameter of engraved area 100mm.

Scarce town plan of Norwich published in 1807 to accompany the Beauties of England and Wales. The map was engraved by J Roper from an original drawing by G Cole. The small inset bottom left is of St Ethelbert's Gate and was engraved by J Smith.
 
The map, which has later hand colouring, is a bit grubby around the borders, not affecting the image, otherwise in good condition. Size of engraved area 230mm x 170mm.

Super picture of an anchor being forged and the bellows keeping the furnace hot. As with the ship plans below an interesting piece of naval history.

Superb pencil signed artist's proof etching of the docks on the River Mersey in Liverpool by the listed artist Henry Percy Huggill (1886-1957). The picture was published by the Gainsborough Galleries in Liverpool in 1920 and has an embossed artist's proof stamp bottom right. P.H. Huggill studied at the Royal College of Art 1908 -1914 and exhibited 12 times at the Royal Academy. Super view of tugs tied up and the Liver Building which will look stunning mounted and framed.
 
The picture has a brown stain around the outer border from a previous mount but this will not be visible once it is re-matted and framed. Otherwise in good condition. Size of engraved area 250mm x 200mm.
