Greenwich map 1816, rare

Very rare folding copper plate map of 'A Survey of the Kings Lordship or Manor of East Greenwich in the County of Kent'. Scarce copy of an earlier map, 1695, showing Greenwich prior to the building of the Seaman's Hospital. The map has some issues, detailed below, but it gives a fascination insight of the town in the late 17th century.

The map, which has original outline colour, does have a few problems. There are some minor tears along a couple of the folds but the main problem is the long tear to the right hand side of the image. This and another one just below it have archival tape on the reverse, I would assume to prevent the tears spreading, but these could really both do with having the tape removed and professionally repaired. However it is a great map and the price does reflect the condition. I would strongly suggest you double click the image for a more detailed view. Size of engraved area 540mm x 540mm.
