After trading for many years the time has finally come to hang up the frames and retire. Our warm thanks to all our loyal clients; your support over the ten years the site has been running has been much appreciated.

These superbly detailed maps were engraved by William Henry Toms following surveys by Thomas Badeslade and proved to be one of the 18th century’s most popular atlases.  Each map highlights the number of MP’s representing the county and the dates of the markets in the counties towns.

The map, which is hand coloured, is on laid paper. On the reverse of the map are remnants of old tape from a previous mount, the top is close trimmed and there is some discolouration, otherwise in good condition. South of the Thames the map lists the residences of a number of prominent people and some street names, quite rare. The map comes from John Strype's 'A survey of the Cities of London and Westminster'.  
 
The map, which has later hand colouring, has a small repaired hole to the right of the compass rose but otherwise in good condition. Size of engraved area 350mm x 280mm.
