After trading for many years the time has finally come to hang up the frames and retire. Our warm thanks to all our loyal clients; your support over the ten years the site has been running has been much appreciated.

Super steel engraving of Woolwich, South East London looking across the River Thames. Published in Germany around 1840 the picture has a Thames hay barge in the foreground with Woolwich shipyard and the arsenal?

River Thames, W L Wyllie C1907

Fine photogravure by William Lionel Wyllie, 1851-1931 published as part of the 'Tidal Thames' around 1885. Not titled or signed but probably the River Thames off Rotherhithe or that region. Very atmospheric, looks like a well loaded hay barge in the foreground with a paddle steamer in the background.

The picture is laid on heavy paper and has some minor discolouration  and marks but generally in good condition. Size of engraved area 330mm x 230mm.

 Fine photogravure by William Lionel Wyllie, 1851-1931 published as part of the 'Tidal Thames' around 1885. Not titled or signed but probably the River Thames off Rotherhithe or that region. Greenwich Hospital, Thomas Malton 1799 (large)

Scarce original aquatint 'North Front of Greenwich Hospital' by Thomas Malton dated 1799. The picture probably comes from 'A Picturesque Tour Through the Cities of London and Westminster' published between 1792 and 1801. Super image of the hospital from the River Thames.

Blackfriars Bridge 1756

Early copper plate engraving of the proposal for Blackfriars Bridge, London dated 1756. Engraved by Benjamin Cole the picture shows the designs for building a bridge in stone to cross the River Thames from Blackfriars to Southwark. An interesting piece of London history.

Sea Princess off Grenwich by Sydney Vale F.R.S.A (large)

Large original marine watercolour titled ‘May 11th 1988 Sea Princess off Greenwich' by the artist Sydney Vale. Sydney Vale was a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a member of the prestigious Wapping Group of Artists from 1972 to 1991. Fine image with the Cutty Sark in the background.

The painting, which is on Oram & Robinson watercolour board, has some very light foxing to the left hand border which could be mounted out, otherwise in good condition. Double click image for a more detailed view. Size of board image 560mm x 390mm.
