Anthony Blackman

Tony Blackman

Anthony Blackman's interest in maritime painting was spawned by the influences and activities relating to the River Thames off his home-town of Gravesend and observing life on the river.

The river life was fascinating to him and at an early age he was sketching ships and local river scenes. He spent his early student days at Gravesend School of Art where he developed his interests, which later influenced his decision to specialise in marine painting.

Anthony's recent exhibitions include; The Texas Seaport Museum International Festival of Maritime Art, The Pearl Fincher Museum in Houston and in 2009 the prestigious Royal Society of Marine Artists' Annual Exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London.
